The Cypriot performers Jon Lilygreen and the Islanders are mostly from the UK this year. Their song is called Life looks better in spring. The stage is dark with blue spotlights changing into amber. The Cypriots have a very traditional band set on the stage, with a drum kit, black grand piano a guitarist plus two backing singers and even the pianist helping lead vocalist Jon.

This is a nice and a relaxed little rock ballad from the Cyprus team.

Andrew:
Cyprus were on next and this is my country this year as I am wearing a Cyprus delegation press badge.
I do like the song and like most of the run throughs. The vocals were fine and it looked good on screen
apart from a few dodgy camera angles which am sure will sort themselves out.

Then I got the sound level check and first run through of Cyprus in the PWA. Jon was it good form, the Islanders are providing great support, however I don’t like a lot of the staging or the camerawork. We’re already seen too much blue and this song is about spring and the new dawning of a season. I would have chosen yellow/green colouring for the chorus and maybe darker shades of the same colours for the verses. The camerawork should also give a better ensamble feel.

Pete:
Jon Lilygreen and the Islanders are next up for Cyprus.
The set starts off dark then turns blue!, though we havent had a blue stage for a while.
Jon has his guitar, 2 backing singers, 1 male and 1 female, a drummer, guitarist and a pianist.
Later in the song the stage changes colour to gold which looks very well. Its a good performance a certainly a contrast to Bulgaria before it. Fofr me the set is a little dark in olaces, as its hard to see all of the band.
There are some great flowing camera shots though, and some of the wide stage shots look amazing with the golden colour, making it look like a sunrise.
It was a good rehearsal ,a simple presentation though I think the camera work needs improving inplaces.

One smooth ballad, typically performed by John Lillygreen and the Islanders. Despite been from Wales, John is giving his heart for Cyprus. Typicall Eurovision ballad which reminds me the 90s in this contest. Vocally something wrong as his voice is going unstable from smooth to screaming. The message of this song is nice. Do your recall Oslo 1996? Constantinos Christoforou also performed a powerful ballad.

Cyprus goes simple this time after many failed attempts with props, extra stage settings and pyros. Simplicity might get sympathy and for sure some extra jury votes. Not bad choice for Cyprus and it gives the island a big hope to qualify to the final.
