The Roop – “Everybody can be who they want to be, just follow your dreams!”

The Roop is a Lithuanian pop/rock band from Vilnius. The group features singer Vaidotas Valiukevičius, drummer Robertas Baranauskas and guitarist Mantas Banišauskas.

Although they have only been working together since 2014, all band members have been involved in the music industry much longer. The Roop’s debut album, To Whom It May Concern, came out in 2015. The band has since played music around the world, from Lithuania to Belgium, Serbia and Brazil.
In English, ‘to roop’ means ‘to shout out’ or ‘to make a great noise’.

The Roop became widely known after participating in 2018’s Pabandom iš naujo! (Lithuanian Eurovision national final) with the song ‘Yes, I Do’. where they finished in third place.

In 2020 The Roop won Pabandom iš naujo! with their song ‘On Fire’ and became one of the bookmaker favorites to win in Rotterdam, before the contest was cancelled.

In 2021 third time was the charm for The Roop who won a landslide victory in Lithuania’s national final with ‘Discoteque’ and will finally represent Lithuania in Rotterdam.

With this song we want people to move. Because when you dance, you feel good. Everyone can dance and by dancing you can reduce your depression. we want People to feel good!
